Kayaking in BajaKayak Baja, a world of dramatic contrasts where russet peaks meet turquoise waters in one of North America’s best winter sea kayaking, snorkeling, and whale watching destinations. The Sea of Cortez, home to 1/3 of the world’s marine mammals, is world renowned for close encounters with wild whales. Kayaking in Baja is paradise come true. Sea Kayak Adventures is honored to hold one of the few permits to kayak Baja’s Islands of Loreto Bay UNESCO World Heritage Site and National Marine Park since 1993. Sea Kayaking & Whale Watching since 1993.

Celebrating 20 years of 'once-in-a-lifetime' moments

Sea Kayak Adventures began in Baja, February 1993 with the dream of sharing the majesty of whale watching and sea kayaking with orcas with fellow nature-lovers. Kayaks are largely non-intrusive to wildlife, which means you’ll have a rare view of birds and animals that normally scatter at the approach of humans. In sturdy sea kayaks, you’ll be at eye level with playful dolphins, inquisitive sea lions, and breathtaking whales and orcas. If you’re already an avid sea kayaker, you’ll enjoy our emphasis on wildlife and natural history from local guides. No prior experience is necessary! Kayaking is easy to learn in the sheltered waters we visit, and we provide all of the gear, kayak equipment and guidance needed.

We selected the very best places to whale watch and sea kayak on Earth. Don’t just watch whales. Join them. Each world-class location hosts unparalleled whale encounters and unique wildlife as well as calm paddling waters, in UNESCO World Heritage Sites and National Marine Parks. Sea Kayak Baja’s Sea of Cortez to see blue whales and fin whales or view friendly gray whale babies at our exclusive Baja whale watching basecamp in Magdalena Bay. Kayak with orcas and humpback whales off Vancouver Island in Canada (home of the world's only orca preserve), or sea kayak withResponsible Whale Watch Partnership southern right whales in Patagonia in their calving lagoon. We even offer tours by yacht to Alaska, or camping on the Galapagos for a spectacular wilderness adventure. We are an Adventure Travel Company fully permitted and licensed in the areas we paddle. We are delighted to announce that furthering our conservation and responsible tourism efforts, in 2013 we became the first kayak tour operator to join the Responsible Whale Watch Partnership. We join just 30 companies in effort to raise the standards of whale and dolphin watching worldwide.

We’re the company that guides choose to work for long-term, even in a seasonal industry. Our top-notch equipment, phenomenal itineraries, and perfected operations attract extraordinary guides – many who are highly sought after in the industry, and who have stayed with us for years. Even guides who travel to work in other areas often return to Sea Kayak Adventures for the same reason: our high quality tours. Since 1993, we have a perfect safety record and thousands upon thousands of happy guests.

Our award-winning tours are nationally acclaimed. In 2009, National Geographic Adventure Magazine rated Sea Kayak Adventures as one of the "Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth". National Geographic Traveler Magazine our orca kayak tour in their Best Whale Watching Destinations. Credit for our success goes to our devotion toward environmental education, sustainability, quality of service, spirit of adventure, and client satisfaction. Best of all, our respect for marine life extends to our tour practices. We operate under strict “Leave-No-Trace” ethics. Even our base camps remain eco-friendly without permanent structures, so you can enjoy whales and orcas without harming their habitat. Rest assured that on a Sea Kayak Adventures trip, you will leave these special places as pristine as you found them.
