Dear Fellow Travelers, During these
worrisome and uncertain times due to the global financial crisis, we pledge to
you that every dollar you pay us for your trip will be kept in a secure insured
account only to be used for your trip. We will not cut back on any of the
service you have come to expect from us in our 15 years in business and we'll
continue to offer you the best value in outdoor
vacations. We are fiscally solid and responsible, and we are fully
prepared to be in business for many years to come.
Since
1993, Sea Kayak Adventures has created simply outstanding sea kayaking trips
and incredible wildlife encounters for outdoor-minded travelers by offering not
only fun and excitement, but also inspiring adventures designed to rejuvenate
your body and spirit. We're all about getting away from everything, learning
new things, observing wildlife, meeting great people and introducing you to a
new way of travel.
In
April 2008 we donated $1000 from our t-shirt sales to Grupo Tortugero, a
grass-roots conservation organization in Baja, to support their efforts in
local fishing communities to protect endangered sea turtles. We are the only
sea kayak company we know of who now offsets our company carbon footprint. We
have partnered with Native Energy Travel Offsets to support programs to
offset all the impact running our business does to the atmosphere. We paid them
for projects such as wind power to offset our carbon emissions in 2008, and
plan to do so every future year we are in business.
We
invite you to create your own adventure with SKA and hope that you will join us
in celebrating the beauty of our planet. See you on the water! Terry

Sea Kayaking and Whale Watching in
Baja:
|
|
Check out our 2008-2009 Baja kayaking &
whale watching schedule. We have
some exciting new trips planned with world class highlights. Whether you're a
beginner or an experienced paddler, Baja's waters are perfect for sea kayaking.
Note: If you find that your internet search for inexpensive airfares prove
unsuccessful, please call us first before you write off your vacation to
Loreto. We can help you find better fares or alternative flights. Here's a
sample of what we will be offering this coming season in Baja: |
| |
Sea of Cortez: |
|
With
thousands of miles of glorious untouched beaches, desert peaks rising from
crystal-clear bays, and a wondrous abundance of marine wildlife, Baja's Sea of
Cortez has been declared a World Heritage Site. It's a magnificent place to
explore by sea kayak, and our Baja adventure is an active one, with daily
opportunities for sea kayaking, snorkeling, and hiking, plus the unforgettable
experience of kayaking with dolphins and whales. At our comfortable beach camps
on pristine islands, we awake each day to a desert-hued sunrise, and at night,
we sip margaritas, watch the sky turn vermilion, and luxuriate in the warm
desert night under a sky ablaze with stars. The protected waters of the Sea of
Cortez are perfect for first-time kayakers.
Sea of Cortez Islands:
The perfect blend of kayaking, snorkeling, wildlife viewing, and hiking
exploration in Loreto Bay National Marine Park. Highlights include beautiful
beach camps, spectacular Baja sunsets, fish tacos, and pina coladas!
October & November
Quick Adventures: We are extending our season in Loreto by offering
motorboat-supported kayak tours in the Sea of Cortez October and November 2008
to take advantage of the 80-90 F degree air and 75-80 F degree water
temperatures. Unlike our typical self-supported kayak tours, the motorboat goes
ahead to camp, carrying most of the gear and food, allowing you to paddle a
lighter kayak. We can also provide chairs and tables for dining as well as a
cooler with ice for cold drinks. Our seven-day Sea of Cortez Islands itinerary
includes two nights hotel, four nights camping / five days of kayaking,
snorkeling and hiking on two beautiful islands in the Bay of Loreto National
Marine Park. It's an excellent introduction to sea kayaking while experiencing
the best paddling waters in Baja. The Oct 12-18, Nov 9-15, Dec. 7-13 2008
departures are guaranteed to go and still have room. We are also offering a
Family Quick
Adventure trip April 5-11, 2009.
Sea of Cortez/Gray Whale
Combos: This best of Baja adventure combines kayaking and snorkeling at
fabulous Loreto Bay National Marine Park in the Sea of Cortez and whale
watching at renowned Magdalena Bay on Baja's Pacific Coast.
Isla Carmen: A Baja sea
kayaking classic, discover this island paradise as we circumnavigate its remote
shores for 10 days on our most vigorous sea kayaking trip. Highlights include
snorkeling, hiking, and camping on white-sand beaches. Fun fact: During the
April 2008 trip, trip participants had the once-in-a-lifetime thrilling
experience of a bus-sized plankton-eating whale shark swim under their
kayaks! |
| |
Gray Whale
Adventure: |
|
If
having close encounters with whales is on your must-do-list, then our five and
six-day Gray Whale
Adventure itineraries will give you two nights hotel, two or three nights
camping / 3 or 4-days whale watching at our beautiful island beach camp at the
center of whale activity in renowned Magdalena Bay on Baja's Pacific Coast.
It's the perfect place to see the gray whales with their calves and we
guarantee plenty of whale sightings. Each day, motorized skiffs take you out to
the deeper waters of the bay, where "friendlies" swim up close to the hulls.
Kayaks are available at the camp for exploring the islands and mangroves. The
camp provides all the gear and amenities you need for a comfortable wilderness
experience including solar showers. Combine any whale camp itinerary with one
of our Sea of Cortez Islands kayak trips for the ultimate Baja vacation, or you
can round out your Baja whale watching adventure with one of our snorkeling
tours to Isla Coronado. We are also offering a special
Women-only
trip March 3-8, 2009. |

offer the best of our sea kayaking trips with
the addition of twice-daily yoga practice. Start your day on a serene sandy
beach with a 50-minute yoga session. Spend the day kayaking, snorkeling, hiking
or relaxing. Take part in a restorative yoga session each evening while our
guides prepare your dinner. We will have a certified, experienced yoga
instructor on each trip leading yoga sessions on the beach. Dates: March 8-15,
2009 Sea of Cortez/Gray Whale Combo. |

Beginning November 2008, through April 2009,
Sea Kayak Adventures is offering mothership kayak tours aboard the Ursa Major
in Baja's Sea of Cortez exploring the wild islands and roadless coast between
Loreto and La Paz for six nights/seven days. The itinerary offers excellent
warm water kayaking, snorkeling with sea lions, hiking past towering cactus and
whale watching. More species of whales can be seen in the Sea of Cortez than in
any other body of water in the world, including the blue whale - the largest
animal ever to exist on planet earth. Join us and experience a remote stretch
of the Sea of Cortez few people ever see with the comfort and safety of our
"floating lodge". |
| |
|
|
|
This eleven-day multi-sport adventure is the
first of its kind offered in this tropical archipelago, allowing you to see the
wonderful wildlife of these islands up close and personal from behind a paddle
vs onboard a cruise, providing you a more intimate journey in the enchanting
Galapagos Islands. Call for available dates. |
| |
New Baja

|
Loreto Panorama
includes three days of whale watching in Magdalena Bay, a Sea of Cortez skiff
& snorkel day tour to Isla Coronado, and a canyon hike day tour based from
